London Elstree Aerodrome, UK – hand-crafted airport

Another airport re-crafted from scratch to match the real-world features as closely as possible. It mostly uses stock objects but it includes custom taxiway paint markings and custom model for rugby posts on 26 approach (crazy close to the glideslope!)

London Elstree Aerodrome (ICAO: EGTR) is an operational general aviation aerodrome located in Elstree, and is situated 2.6 nautical miles (4.8 km; 3.0 mi) east of Watford, Hertfordshire, England.

Elstree Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P486) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Aldenham Aviation LLP).

The aerodrome has one runway aligned roughly east–west. The runway (08/26) is 2,136 feet in length.

Install:
Extract the “gobby-elstree” folder to your /Community/ folder.

Notes:
· The PAPI (LITAS) lights for 26 approach are not exactly as EGTR. It has a 3-3 formation of lights in real-life, but a 2-2 formation is the closest available.
· I’ve noticed a slight drop in frames due to lots of general aviation planes. I included over 50 parking spaces to accurately reflect how busy this airfield is.

The Basse-Terre – Baillif aerodrome (AITA code: BBR • ICAO code: TFFB) 1 is located on the territory of the municipality of Baillif on the island of Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe. It is used to serve mainly the prefecture of Basse-Terre as well as the entire south and west of the island of Guadeloupe. Located on the edge of the Caribbean Sea at an altitude of 18 m above sea level, the aerodrome has a hard runway 620 m long 2. It has been open to restricted air traffic since April 1970 in category D (light aircraft) 3. The aerodrome opens the credits of the Franco-British television series Meurtres au paradis, created in 2011.
