Good news, everyone! Farming Simulator 22 will feature cross-platform multiplayer. No more separation between friends on different systems – everyone can play together, regardless of their preferred platform.

So, get your controller-wielding buddies online and show’em how precise you can harvest those new grapes with mouse and keyboard (or the other way around)!

Crossplay FAQ: What you should know

Which platforms are supported?

Crossplay is supported by Farming Simulator 22 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia. Everyone can play together!

How many people can play together?

If the server host is hosting from a PC, up to 16 players are possible, including players on consoles. If using a game console to host the server, up to 6 players are possible, in total.

When playing on a dedicated server hosted by Nitrado, other server providers, or even self-hosted dedicated servers, up to 16 players are possible, regardless of the players’ systems.

Can console players rent and host servers?

Yes. Console players can rent and host their own servers via Nitrado, and other server providers, too. Just like PC players.

Can I deactivate crossplay?

If you’re worried, other players might be superior at farming because of mouse and keyboard controls: don’t worry, they won’t be. But, you can still use filters to avoid crossplay servers, and prevent players on other platforms from joining your server.

On PlayStation and Xbox consoles, you can disable it in the system user preferences. Make sure to allow crossplay for the console user to make this feature available in-game.

Is cross-saving possible?

Only the host is saving the progress. Farm progression is not saved for everyone else.

How will DLCs & mods affect crossplay?

Every player has to have the same content (DLCs and/or mods) installed as the server host. Otherwise, players with missing content can’t join the server. Console users can only join servers with mods that are available through the official ModHub on consoles. Stadia users can only join servers with no mods activated.

How will slots (consoles) affect cross-platform multiplayer?

The hosting platform is setting the initial limit of available slots (determining the maximum number of machines, tools, etc. on the server). If a player with fewer slots available on his platform is joining the game, he will set the new slot limit for everyone based on his platform.

If a server has already more slots occupied than supported by your platform, joining the server won’t be possible. Since old-gen and current-gen consoles differ in terms of available slots, too, console players have to keep in mind the slot count when playing with friends using a console from a different hardware generation.

How does voice chat / text chat work?

Farming Simulator 22 supports cross-platform voice and text chat. Text chat input is only possible on PC, console players can read the text chat.

Joint farming: Uniting PC and consoles

Thanks to crossplay, cooperative farming will be more fun than ever. Work the fields together, occupy different farms, and help each other out where you can. With production chains becoming part of Farming Simulator 22, there’s even more to do, now.

That’s not all: So everyone can farm together in (their own) style, the new character creator also allows for various new customization options. Just in time for crossplay. Farming Simulator 22

Farming Simulator 22 will be the biggest game of the series to date when it launches on November 22nd. But, we won’t be done adding new content with the release. So, we’ll please you with even more machines, tools and other cool things in the future.

It’s available to pre-order, now.

If you want to extend your copy of the game – you might want to take a look at the Season Pass! Especially, since you save money compared to buying the content separately.

Year 1 Season Pass to add a lot of content

The Year 1 Season Pass includes all planned content for the first year after release of Farming Simulator 22. That means three individual content packs with various new machines, and tools. On top of that, there’s a huge expansion on the horizon to extend the game even further. Here’s the road map:

Map & gameplay trailer – More news from gamescom
Besides the Season Pass, we also revealed the third map in Farming Simulator 22: Haut-Beyleron is inspired by the French countryside, and an ideal setting to create lush orchards and beautiful vineyards on your farm. Haut-Beyleron (o bɛlʁɔ̃) is the third map in Farming Simulator 22. With Erlengrat and Elmcreek already announced, we kept this one secret until now. Some of you already guessed right – the last map will take you to France. Take a look!

Enjoy the French countryside!

Just like with the other maps, the inspiration for Haut-Beyleron came from various places in the country. It’s not meant to resemble only one place in France, so you’ll notice influences from the regions of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the south-west of the country and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in the south-east – creating the Mediterranean charm of southern France. The topology of Haut-Beyleron is heavily inspired by Beynac-et-Cazenac, including an almost identical recreation of the river courses that run through the map.

Take a break, go visit some places!

There are a lot of special places in Haut-Beyleron, apart from the beautiful hillside orchards, and the various selling points, you’ll deliver your goods to. In the center of the map, you’ll notice a castle – only one of the influences that came from south-eastern communes like Sisteron, which is also called the “Gateway to Provence”.

But there’s more to discover all over the map. Like the traditional gondolas, floating on the rivers, creating an idyllic scenery. Or the observatory, opening its dome at sundown to align the telescope with the stars. It’s okay to stop the tractor once in a while or drive around in your car to enjoy the view.

Haut-Beyleron is predestined for the new crops we’re introducing with Farming Simulator 22. Especially grapes and olives will transform the already beautiful landscape into a wide-ranging sight of lush vineyards, striping the fields.

Since Haut-Beyleron is not based on a particular region of France, the mild Mediterranean climate of the map allows for snowfall, too. So, expect your farm to be covered in white, thanks to the seasonal cycles we’re introducing with the game.

Of course, you can turn snow off if you want to – creating an experience that’s representative of the more Mediterranean regions in southern France, where snow is a bit rarer.
