MSFS 2020 airports mods

Dongsha Airport is missing in default FS2020. It is quite an isolated airport in south china sea. It’s currently controlled by Taiwan government and only allowed for military charter flights. It is also known as Dongsha Atoll National Park for its beautiful coral reef. This package provide custom imagery, basic airport environment, working tower, and working NDB, DME. Since FS doesn’t support water depth editing yet, the beautiful coral reef is not possible to be seen yet.

V1.1 update
1. Add second parking ramp.
2. Extend runway safety area. Less trees around runway.
3. Add custom RNAV approaches for both runway. These approaches are adapted by real charter flights.
Note: When performing custom RNAV approach, your speed should be less than 140kts when closing terminal area to avoid runway overshoot.

V1.0 Initial release:
Airport data are based on the following known information:
VFR airport. Custom RNAV approach is planned.
Runway length is 1500m and 30m in width.
No runway lighting nor PAPI/VASI, no ILS.
NAVAID: Only one DME 112.9MHz and NDB 270kHz are provided.
ATC: Control Tower on 118.1 only.

Installation: drag and drop the “kcai-rclm” folder in your Community folder.

This is a collection of altiports and altisurfaces in the Alps, begining with Haute-Savoie and Savoie.

Most of the time they are simple, short and ephemeral runways.

They are presented as “airports” although they do not have valid ICAO, but a code that is not compatible with MSFS2020 syntax.
So they will be displayed on the map but they will not be available through search or teleport.

When others go backcountry flying the swiss go glacier flying. There are roughly 25 official glacier landing sites that even have their own ICAO codes.

The strips in the package are excessively simple, they consist of:
One or more runways with terraforming (from GIS-data) to smooth the mesh
One or two parkings as spawn points
New: Tracks in the snow so that you can see where the strip is (depending on lighting)
This is a somewhat experimental concept – let me know what you think of it. And whether it’s worth doing more.

Limitations:
The glaciers seem to be recognised as sand. There’s even some grass growing on some of them. Adding 30cm of snow in the weather settings improves things
Terraforming artefacts (kinks) at the ends of runways. Once again we’ll just have to wait for better tools and/or better mesh data
The current low resolution mesh is not really up to the job
The parked yellow cub is sometimes wings level, sometimes wings properly parallel

This Airport already exists in the game, but some time between the Bing satellite images and present day, the airport was constructed, and the rendition of the airport in the simulator is not accurate (at all!)

About:
✔ VRNT Is a default airport in MSFS2020, however It is completely misrepresented due to the outdated satellite images. Quite how it made it into the sim, and otehrs didnt, is unknown.

London Elstree Aerodrome, UK – hand-crafted airport

Another airport re-crafted from scratch to match the real-world features as closely as possible. It mostly uses stock objects but it includes custom taxiway paint markings and custom model for rugby posts on 26 approach (crazy close to the glideslope!)

London Elstree Aerodrome (ICAO: EGTR) is an operational general aviation aerodrome located in Elstree, and is situated 2.6 nautical miles (4.8 km; 3.0 mi) east of Watford, Hertfordshire, England.

Elstree Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P486) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Aldenham Aviation LLP).

The aerodrome has one runway aligned roughly east–west. The runway (08/26) is 2,136 feet in length.

· The PAPI (LITAS) lights for 26 approach are not exactly as EGTR. It has a 3-3 formation of lights in real-life, but a 2-2 formation is the closest available.
· I’ve noticed a slight drop in frames due to lots of general aviation planes. I included over 50 parking spaces to accurately reflect how busy this airfield is.

Buenas, como nadie se animaba a diseñarlo, aquí traigo Aerosidonia, un fantástico campo de vuelo ubicado a tan solo 3km del precioso pueblo de Medina Sidonia en la provincia de Cádiz.

** Instalación** :
– Descarga el .zip y descomprimelo en la carpeta Community de MS Flight Simulator.
– Disfruta del vuelo.

** Correciones y Mejoras ** :
– Corregida y reconstruida la pista por completo (agregadas lineas discontinuas, numeros de pista, frecuencia de campo, gradiente, nuevo asfalto, vegetación y correción en la inversión de pista)
– Agregados Hangares principales, Hangar oficina, Bar y Cartel de entrada al campo de vuelo.
– Agregado Foco Iluminación Hangares (radio 10m)
– Agregado Pozo de Ganaderia (Punto VFR)
– Agregado Fábrica Cereales y Carnes de Medina (Punto VFR)
– Agregado Cercado y ganaderia.- Agregado modelos estáticos. (autogyro, shock ultra, etc..)
– Eliminado el crew ground (camión cisterna, surtidor de gasolina, pushback, etc..)
– Eliminada vegetación circundante innecesaria
– Reajuste de posición en la manga de viento.

** Notas ** :
– Diseñado y texturizado desde 0 en Blender con materiales PBR en resolución 2k/4k.
– En proximos avances del desarrollo se pretende fotogrametriar con dron el campo de vuelo y alrededores incluyendo el pueblo de Medina Sidonia.
– Avances siguiente versión: (texturas no incorporadas al pozo ganadero y fábrica de carnes-cereales, agregar carretera hasta autovia, señales viales, agregar hotel&restaurante (punto vfr), agregar techo de brezo al bar, reajustar tipo de parking (si el sdk lo permite), correcciones menores.
